AK-28 DOME ZERO RL Le Mans 1979
DOME ZERO RL 24 Hours of Le Mans 1979, after difficulties with road homologation of the Japanese Zero car, Hayashi decided to develop a race car, the Zero RL and realize the ambitions of Hayashi and his employees to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The 1979 Zero RL was powered by a Ford Cosworth V8 engine, with unusual dimensions for a Le Mans prototype, with a very narrow track and a long body.
Its racing debut was at the 1979 Silverstone 6 Hours, where it was third fastest in practice, but the Zero RL finished 12th. Two Zero RLs raced at the 24 Hours of Le Mans that same year, number 6 driven by Craft/Spice and number 7 by Tony Trimmer/Bob Evans, but both failed to finish the race. Dome returned to Le Mans with new versions of the car in the following years.
The decoration presented in this kit, is precisely that of the 1979 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the version of the two units that raced.
Unpainted resin kit in 1/32 scale, consisting of bodywork, rear wing, roof, mirrors, driver’s helmet, side windows, front and rear lights, hubcaps, rims and decal sheet.
