AK-27 COPERSUCAR FITTIPALDI FD01 1975

The 1974 season was spent preparing the new team that was to have a strong Brazilian flavor. Wilson Fittipaldi convinced the Brazilian sugar and alcohol cooperative Copersucar to sponsor the team. The car was designed by Brazilian Richard Divila.

The long, low Copersucar FD01, with its bulbous design containing the engine and radiators (these in an unusual rear position), painted in silver, with the Copersucar logo and rainbow applications on the flanks, was presented in October 1974 in the Federal Senate of Brazil in Brasilia with the presence of President Ernesto Geisel.

The team, known as Copersucar-Fittipaldi, did not have much success in its first season in 1975. Wilson crashed in chassis FD01 on lap 12 of his first race, the 1975 Argentine Grand Prix, which his brother Emerson ended up winning with a McLaren. Wilson was the only driver and only completed five races with the best result being 10th place in the United States Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, and failed to qualify on three occasions.

The decoration presented in this kit is the one corresponding to his debut in the G.P. from Argentina.

Resin kit unpainted 1/32 scale, composed of the  body, pilot helmet, insert  wheels , transparent windshield, front and rear spoilers and decal sheet.
